"You realize, these are not based on emotions, this is a commitment." said the Minister.
I got to photograph Megan and Stephen's wedding few days ago with a team of beautiful ladies (Hi Stephanie, hi Abigail! Y'all rock!). We started early while the bride and groom were getting ready, and enjoyed a WARM SUNNY December day in Georgia. (I know.)
The bridesmaids looked so unique each in their own way. The groomsmen celebrated Stephen all day and even enjoyed celebrating one of their friends birthday as well. While the bride and groom didn't have a 'first look', they did give sweet hand written letters to each other and held hands saying plenty of "I love you" as they read them and let go, going into hiding till they see each other for their "I do's".
The Minister read from 1 Corinithians 13. Talking about Love, and what real love looks like, and then he said: "You realize, these are not based on emotions. Love is a commitment". They got great words of wisdom that day.
Once the sweet ceremony by the water was over, and all the portraits were done in golden light. (Although golden light is what all photographers love, and you capture the best photos during the golden hour...my favorite part of the day were the toasts!) The Maids of honor shared how they witnessed Megan and Stephen fall in love. The father of the groom told them how they make his heart happy, how in every step of their relationship, they've always made his heart smile, and seeing them say "I DO" made his heart smile once more. (He was sweetest to add, "I can't wait to see you add more hearts in the future!") The father of the bride gave great advice; to never let the sun go down on your anger. Ephesians 4:26 .
Congratulations Megan and Stephen! You were surrounded with great family and allot of friends on your wedding day. I'm grateful I got to photograph the highlights of your day.
